What is EBICOM?

EBICOM (Emergence of Bilingualism and Commonwealth) is a programme put in place by AFRICOL for the promotion of bilingualism and projects of development.

Its objective

Put at the disposition of the citizens the tools and means of appropriation of Bilingualism and projects of development through sensitization, training, the publishing of technical books, technical backing in order to reinforce the national integration and to stimulate the sustainable development.  

Its specific objectives:

Find the financing for the implementation of the programme ;

Stimulate the awareness of the importance of the English language in the enlargement of the market for the benefit of the economic operators;

Stimulate the awareness of the importance of bilingualism in the cultural life and the professional success of the children for the benefit of parents; 

Stimulate the awareness of the importance of English language and French language for a strong national integration and the economic and diplomatic success for the benefit of citizens;

Make the bilingualism be a socio-cultural and economic mark of Cameroon at the international level;

Reinforce the national integration through the bilingualism;

Reinforce the knowledge of the English and French language for the benefit of citizens ;

Stimulate the daily use of the two official languages in the different means of communication ;

Stimulate the appropriation of the projects of development.

Activities to carry out:

Create, reinforce and enliven the clubs of bilingualism at primary schools, secondary schools and universities;

Train for the knowledge of the English language and French language;

Publish and distribute the educational books for the appropriation of bilingualism and projects of development ;

Support the projects of development ;

Organize the Emergence of Bilingualism and Commonwealth days.

The estimate results :

Financing and implementation of the programme ;

Awareness of the importance of bilingualism in the cultural life and the professional success of the children for the benefit of parents; 

Awareness of the importance of English language and French language for a strong national integration and the economic and diplomatic success for the benefit of citizens;

awareness of the importance of the English language in the enlargement of the market for the benefit of the economic operators;

Daily use of the two official languages in the different means of communication ;

Increase in activities thank related to the projects of development.
